There are great and exciting things happening with the “Mav Band” and we want you to be a part of them!  In recent years, through the dedicated work of many and close collaboration with area middle schools, the “Mav Band” has grown from a few dozen members to become one of the largest and finest marching band programs in South Carolina.  We set high expectations for everyone involved and with everything we do.  Some our recent success includes:

• Earning the Outstanding Performance Award, the highest award given to South Carolina bands, each of the last six years.
• Earning a finalist position at the 5A State Marching Championships 3 of the past 5 years. 
• Earning 5 Grand Championship trophies, including the 2011 All-State Sugar Bowl Competition in New Orleans, LA.
• Growing to over 160 students participating in three concert bands; including the Wind Ensemble, an auditioned group that competes at the highest level and consistently earns the highest ratings.
• Fielding two Indoor Color Guard groups both earning early promotions and trophies.
• Dozens of students recognized each year by acceptance to the All-Region and All-State Honor Bands, the highest number in the surrounding 5 counties and one of the highest in the state.
• The highest number of students from any other high school in Greenville County recognized each year by acceptance to the Greenville All-County Honor Band.

As you can see, we have developed a tradition of excellence but we are not satisfied.  We continue to set our goals high and strive to improve.  If you love music, hard work, and are committed to excellence; WE WANT YOU to join us!
