March Booster Meeting Minutes
Tony Jones, Booster President, was not at the meeting. Kim Stewart, Vice President was in charge of the meeting.
Kim called the meeting to order at 7:03 pm. She welcomed everyone and then turned it over to Lori Austin, the assistant Treasurer for an update on the financial report.
Lori briefly went over the treasurer’s report. Comments were made about moving the bus cost from marching show line item to truck and trailer line item. The report only reflects numbers through January 2009. Report was approved as written.
Kaye Emsley, secretary, briefly discussed the minutes from the last booster meeting. These minutes were posted on the mavband website. Minutes were approved as written.
Jessica Mandujano presented our Pizza Kit fundraiser for the Spring. The fundraiser will start March 10, 2009 and end on March 31, 2009. This money can be applied to this year’s balance or next year’s deposit. The orders will arrive on April 17th in the Band Room at 4:00 pm for pick up.
Mike Wills, media group representative, talked to the boosters about the number of hits the website is receiving each day. He stated that even the advertisers were receiving a lot of hits. We need to keep this up. We need to continue to get more corporate sponsors. He also suggested that the budget committee should look at lumping together the website and program ads, instead of separating them.
Kaye Emsley talked about the Drive Games. Will be starting up the season again on April 14th. Games will be on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The dates are on the website for sign-ups. The budget committee is to look at raising the amount of credit you receive for volunteering for these games.
Trish Wassynger talked about the Florida Trip. Bills are coming in so all money must be in for us to pay them. The group will go to Medieval Times on Friday at 8:00 pm. April 16th is a mandatory meeting for students and parents going on the trip. A copy of the student’s insurance card, front and back, is needed. Parents will also be required to sign a hotel room contract. Each student will receive $15 per meal for 5 meals. Be sure to give your child money for souveniers and extra drinks.
