Greenville Drive Information:

Show Time is 5:30pm @ the volunteer door.

Uniform, Grooming, and Appearance:
All concession volunteers must wear the following:
Khaki or denim pants, long shorts, or capris (no stretch, short-shorts, or gym pants)
Mauldin High School Band t-shirt (current year’s shirt) or purchase a Drive shirt for $5 – at your expense.
Comfortable shoes (MUST BE CLOSED TOE SHOES)
Hats are permitted only if they are Drive Game hats (which can be purchased at your expense for $10)
If you are not dressed appropriately, you will be asked to leave.

Good grooming and hygiene are essential.
Smoking is not permitted inside West End Field.

Parking and Entrance for Volunteers:
Parking for volunteers for all the Drive games is at the County Square (off of University Ridge, where you pay car and property taxes). The stadium is about a 5-10 minute walk. The entrance for the volunteers is located on the same side as the ticket booths. You will pass the entrance to the suites, and just on the other side of the loading dock marked with small yellow pillars. The door is painted brown and is not marked.

General Volunteer Responsibilities:
Every volunteer plays a key role in determining the success of an event. Concession volunteers are in charge of providing customers with food and beverage items during various events. This overall duty includes setting up their assigned stand, selling products, cleaning up their assigned are, and breaking down the stand when necessary. While performing all of these tasks, concession volunteers are responsible for monitoring the quality and production of the items being served and determine and maintain control of the stand’s inventory and cash. Customer service is a high standard.

Stand Manager Responsibilities:
The stand manager is an employee of the Greenville Drive. He or she will work closely with the group to get the flow of tasks going. They are responsible for the operation of the stand only.

Team Leader:
The team leader of the group must listen and follow instructions given by the stand manager and communicate to the group. If any problems arise during your shift, please tell the team leader who will consult with the stand manager.

Cashier:
The cashier is responsible for counting their assigned registers money before and after the game and a register form must be filled out and signed. There should be one person per register only. Any problems with the register, please tell the stand manager.

Drink Server:
The drink server is responsible for assisting the cashier filling orders for soft drinks and/or beer. Server must be at least 21 years of age to serve beer. All patrons must be given a new cup for each beverage purchase. Please see serving alcohol section of this document.

Food Runner:
The food runner is responsible for helping the cashier fill their orders for any other purchases made. They are also responsible for keeping there are clean and letting the cooks know when food is running low. Please see other notes section of this document.

Arrival and Dismissal:
Arrival:
Volunteers are asked to be at the stadium 1.5 hours before the game to help set up the stand, unless asked otherwise.
Once you arrive, there will be a volunteer board that will tell you which concession stand Mauldin High School Band is responsible for.
Please check in with the team leader once you locate the concession stand for assignment (i.e., cashier, drink server, food runner).

Dismissal:
Each volunteer is asked to help clean up the concession stand before leaving.
Please check with the stand manager and the team leader before leaving the stadium.

Breaks, Drinks, and Meals:

There is no eating in the concession stands. Breaks will be approved by the stand manager if time allows.

You are allowed to bring non-alcoholic drinks with you. Water will be provided or my may purchase a soft drink during the shift (NO ALCOHOL). However, you must bring your own cup with a lid or water bottle. All drinks must be completely closed.

Meals can be purchased during your break at the concession. However, you must be served from outside of the stand.

No food will be eaten or taken home after closing unless approved by the stand manager.

As a representative of the Maudlin High School Band, you are NOT ALLOWED TO DRINK ALCOHOL AT ANYTIME YOU ARE VOLUNTEERING. If you are caught doing so, you will asked to leave and your name will no longer be on the list of volunteers.

Serving Alcohol:

Volunteers selling or handling alcohol must be at least 21 years of age.

Alcohol sales must stop with the first pitch of the 8th inning. No exceptions
.
Volunteers must check to see if patrons have a wrist band to purchase alcohol. If the patron does not, he/she must verify their age with a Drive employee at the age verification table. DO NOT TAKE OR CHECK THEIR ID.

Watch for signs that a patron may have had too much to drink.

At any point you need to refuse to serve alcohol to a customer, please have a fellow volunteer with you and talk to the guest away from others.

Consult with your stand manager if you can not resolve any problems serving or refusing to serve alcohol.

Sanitation:
One of the most important responsibilities of any food and beverage volunteer is to practice good sanitation procedures. Please follow the guidelines listed below:

Wash hands before you start working and anytime after a break or using the restroom. Sanitize or wash often!

Wear food handler gloves that are provided any time you are handling unwrapped food. Change gloves often!

Do not touch food-contact surfaces, such as rims or inside of cups or the tines of forks at any time.

Wipe up spills.

Always use tongs, serving utensils or scoops when necessary.

Make sure any cuts, abrasions, burns, etc. are clean and covered during your shift.

Sign-ups:
Sign-ups for the Drive Games can be found on the Band website at www.mavband.com

You will receive a notice that your request has been opened. However, this does not mean that you automatically are signed up for the game. You WILL RECEIVE AN EMAIL THAT STATES THAT YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED TO WORK. At that time, your name will be added to the list.

Once you sign up, you must show up!! If you are unable to keep your commitment, you must find a replacement and notify the team leader.

If you are a “no show” and have no replacement, your name will be taken off the list of volunteers for the games until the following year.

Only those signed up to work will get credit unless extra volunteers are needed and approved by the MHS Band Drive Coordinator.

Other Notes:
1. Portion controls on all products must be consistent with guidelines given by the stand manager (i.e., ice cream = 1 inch above cup; chili = light line across the top of the hot dog)

2. Spoilage procedures: do not let perishable items stand at room temperature. Serve hot foods hot and cold foods cold.

3. Always be aware of inventory and product waste. All inventory needs to be accounted for at the end of each shift. A box will be available for waste food. DO NOT THROW ANYTHING AWAY until you check with the stand manager or the team leader.

4. No lids or straws for cups.

5. Only parents/guardians and band members will be allowed to work. Volunteers must be a junior or senior to participate.

6. Volunteers are encouraged not to bring any valuables.
The Greenville Drive is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
